Consultant issues RFP aimed at beneficial stainless steel slag applications

Source: NineSigma, Cleveland

Technology and licensing specialist NineSigma has issued a request for proposals to test or develop uses for milled stainless steel slag in prospective markets including construction materials and road building. Stainless steel slag has aluminum, calcium, magnesium and silicon compounds similar to conventional (carbon steel) ground granulated blast furnace slag, although the volumes differ and the stainless steel slag particle sizing distribution is smaller than GGBF product. Overseeing the RFP is NineSigma’s David Feitler, PhD, 216/287-9060.
